Prickly pear seed oil: why is it so precious?
Origin, rarity and use of prickly pear seed oil in a facial skincare routine.
The prickly pear, or opuntia cactus, grows abundantly in southern Morocco. Its fruit contains tiny seeds that are cold-pressed into a rare, sought-after oil.
A rare oil
A large quantity of fruit is needed for a single litre of oil, as the seeds contain only a small proportion of oil. That is why it costs more than other plant oils.
Benefits for the skin
Naturally rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, prickly pear seed oil moisturises, softens and helps smooth the look of fine lines. Its light texture absorbs quickly without a greasy film, making it pleasant even for combination skin.
How to use it
- In the evening, after cleansing, apply 2 to 3 drops to face and neck.
- Gently pat one drop around the eyes with your fingertips.
- For a richer treat, choose our prickly pear seed oil cream.
A few drops are enough: a 30 ml bottle lasts several weeks of daily use.
